Backflow Prevention Device Testing

INSPECTIONS   TESTING

backflow prevention assembly is used to protect potable water supplies from contamination or pollution due to backflow. Many fire sprinkler systems are required to have a backflow prevention assembly to protect us from our drinking water becoming contaminated.

In water supply systems, water is normally maintained at a significant pressure to enable water to flow from the tap, shower etc. When pressure fails or is reduced, as may happen if a water main bursts, pipes freeze or there is unexpectedly high demand on the water system, then such reduced pressure in the pipe may allow contaminated water from the ground, from storage or from other sources to be drawn up into the system.

EGFS offer testing of backflow prevention devices to businesses in south-east Georgia. Our testers are certified through the Georgia Statewide Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification Program, by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.
